by 7X Designs – Where Stories Shape Spaces

In the world of design, few dare to see beyond walls and floors. At Triumph Square, by 7X Designs emerged as a quiet force turning ordinary spaces into places that resonate—where every corner, texture, and light holds meaning.

A Humble Beginning

In 2015, a small two-person studio quietly opened its doors in Singapore. It wasn’t part of a master plan—it began with curiosity and the courage to say yes to opportunity. “I’ve always been the type who thinks that if you don’t try, you’ll never know. Starting our design studio meant taking control of the narrative, shaping the kind of projects we wanted to work on, and defining how we approach design,” says Arch. Gerry Roda, Co-Founder of by 7X Designs.

From day one, the goal was clear: create spaces that go beyond just looking good. “We focus on storytelling, context, and experience while making sure every project has meaning and direction behind it,” Gerry adds.

Designing with a Story

By 7X Designs follows narrative-led design. Every project starts with a story and a clear idea. “At the beginning of every project, we define a clear idea—something everyone can understand and connect with. When the concept is clear, clients, consultants, and the entire team can move forward together with confidence,” explains Gerry.

One or two strong ideas guide the design, shaping everything from spatial planning and materials to detailing and artwork. We try not to overcomplicate things. For us, the goal is always cohesion Gerry says.

Vatu Talei Sofitel, FijiThe concept was inspired by the journey of a sea turtle and its relationship with the surrounding mountain range. That simple narrative guided the entire experience, from layered textures and forest-inspired tones to the way guests move through the property as if journeying through nature itself.

Gong Festival and the cultural traditions of the local highland tribes. It’s a celebration that calls Communities together in gratitude.

Life at Triumph Square

Located in Triumph Square, South Triangle, the studio thrives in a vibrant, creative environment. “South Triangle has always been a vibrant and evolving district. It feels creative, entrepreneurial, and very well-connected… There’s always something new to discover, not just in terms of dining, but also in design. Many of the establishments here have distinct design styles and often get featured by vloggers and on social media, which makes the area even more dynamic and inspiring,” says Gerry.

The studio also values Community. “We’ve gotten to know few people who work in the Building, and everyone has been warm and friendly. It reflects how we like to work as well: collaborative, forward-looking, and connected.”

For their 10th anniversary in 2025, they shared a small “free ice cream” treat with the Triumph Square Community.

Design with Intention

For Gerry, design is about purpose. “Design is not just about how a space looks. It’s also about how it makes people feel and how it supports their purpose and how it contributes to their well-being… The choices we make in design may seem small, but together, they shape experiences and add value to our daily life.”

Gerry adds: “Whether you are building a Company, a space, or a vision, start with intention. When there is clarity in purpose, design becomes powerful… Also in business, the start is always not easy. It will test you mentally, emotionally and physically… But if you love what you do, that passion will carry you through the difficult times and those challenges become part of your journey. Success rarely happens in comfort, so sometimes you have to take that step. You wont know unless you try.”

From Singapore to Fiji, Vietnam, and beyond, by 7X Designs proves that thoughtful design doesn’t just fill a room—it creates experiences, tells stories, and gives meaning to every space.
